Kate is an NHS worker who had two mortgages and a credit card in the past, but when she heard about the mis-selling of PPI she didn’t think it would apply to her. However, her son convinced her to look into it further and she discovered that she had been sold PPI on three different occasions.
Kate decided to use iSmart’s claims management services and eventually submitted 3 claims.
Interestingly, Kate’s case shows the different ways in which claims are dealt with. One claim was Settled immediately and she received a small payment of £105. The second claim was not upheld as she had not been mis-sold the insurance and then she received a letter regarding the third (credit card) claim.
The letter, from the Financial Ombudsman Service, stated that even though her credit card company were not accepting responsibility for mis-selling of PPI she would still receive an agreed amount from them. Kate will hear by mid-April how much that will be.
